We are a vibrant, growing community of believers meeting in the heart of Siglap.
Founded in 1961, we have the distinctive of being the first church established in the Evangelical Free Church of Singapore.
We meet in a refurbished bungalow that used to be owned by American missionaries. But now, our gospel extends far beyond, to as far as Iraq.
Bethany Evangelical Free Church (BEFC)
We are a vibrant, growing community of believers meeting in the heart of Siglap.
Founded in 1961, we have the distinctive of being the first church established in the Evangelical Free Church of Singapore.
We meet in a refurbished bungalow that used to be owned by American missionaries. But now, our gospel extends far beyond, to as far as Iraq.
As a church, we have three distinctives
Biblical preaching
that is faithful and relevant
A cozy community
where everyone knows each other
A mission oriented church
that is outward looking
Our Vision
A Church on God's Mission
Our vision as a church is to be faithful to the mission that God has set for us. Being "on God's mission" reminds us that we do not exist for ourselves but for God.
Hence we are to be a dynamic community actively engaging with His mission to a hurting and broken world. This is a clarion call to be God-oriented and outward-looking.

Our Mission
To participate in God's mission to unite all things in Christ
As the people of God, we derive our mission from God’s mission. This is defined in Ephesians 1:10 as God’s “plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in Christ, things in heaven and things on earth in him”.
We believe this understanding of mission is what is known today as integral mission.

Our Values
Our four core values, which can be easily remembered using our church’s initials (B.E.F.C.), express the core values which the church believes are necessary to live out God’s mission at BEFC.
We teach regularly on our core values to help our members live them out fully.

Our Statement of Faith
As an Evangelical Free Church, we are committed to the idea of “majoring on the majors”. Hence, while we are an evangelical community who are convicted of Jesus’ gospel and passionate about being on God’s Mission, we also hold onto the wise dictum that “in essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty; in all things, charity”.
We focus on core Christian beliefs and God’s mission, while remaining open to diverse interpretations on secondary issues. This ensures that we do not lose sight of the mission that God has established for us: to participate in God’s mission to unite all things under Christ.
